Menopause Yoga

Helping women navigate this life change with confidence, strength and passion

REMEMBER IN THE FILM “CARRIE” WHEN SHE GETS HER PERIOD IN THE SHOWER AND SHE THINKS SHE IS DYING BECAUSE NOBODY TOLD HER SHE WAS GOING THROUGH A MASSIVE HORMONAL CHANGE? WELL THE MENOPAUSE IS A BIT LIKE THAT FOR MANY MANY WOMEN WHO HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN ANY INFORMATION AND LEFT IN THE DARK ON THIS EQUALLY METAMORPHIC HORMONAL TRANSITION. WAKING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH PALPITATIONS AND THINKING THAT YOU’RE DYING IS NOT AN UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE FOR A PERI-MENOPAUSAL WOMAN!

MENOPAUSE YOGA WORKSHOPS

Menopause Yoga supports women in their 40s, 50s and 60s  going through the peri menopause, menopause and post menopause through group workshops which will Include a specially adapted yoga practice with breathing techniques, mindful meditation/relaxation practices and effective approaches to help navigate this seemingly relentless hormonal transition.

These workshops are designed to help manage the many and varied symptoms such as hot flushes, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, fatigue, lack of focus/brain fog, overwhelm, panic attacks,  meno-rage and low mood as well as offer the most successful strategies to help conquer the unexplained midriff weight gain, depleting muscle and bone mass, weakening pelvic floor muscles. bladder issues and the reasons behind this undesirable shift. You will also receive the latest advice and guidance on HRT and the myths surrounding it, natural remedies, hormonal nutrition, Indian Ayurveda and other alternative therapies.

There will be an opportunity to share your own symptoms voluntarily in a safe space among women who are going through the same experiences as you. The women’s circle ( sangha) is a nurturing and comforting part of menopause yoga. “Once we understand the true nature of a woman’s life cycle, we can celebrate our feminine energy, acknowledge the wisdom within us all, and share this knowledge with younger generations so that they view our menopausal years not with fear and anxiety, but instead as a time of liberation, creativity, respect and empowerment.” — Petra Coveney, founder of Menopause Yoga
