Hip openers bring release to many areas that are tight, in fact most yoga practices are one big hip-opener opportunity. Tight hips affect everything from getting into wheel pose to simply picking something up off the floor. Tight hip increase the load and cause overuse of the spine. In addition to the physical benefits of these postures, opening the hips can create an energetic shift. According to yogic tradition we store a lot of negative emotion in our hips so helping to release this area creates space for new expression and ideas. Perfect practice for the New Year!
