Svadhisthana – one’s own sweet place!
WELCOME to the second chakra: your centre for pleasure, fun, movement, and feeling. The purpose here is to get things moving: to get your body moving in general, to move the energy inside, and to joyfully move your life forward. Pleasure invites us to expand, while pain makes us contract. Opening to pleasure in the second chakra, not only makes us feel happier and more expansive, but it gets the subtle energy moving through the body, soothing and releasing blockages.
In this workshop we will move from the hips with fluidity and playfulness to a soundtrack which I have carefully put together to represent everything sacral. We will finish in stillness with a blissful sacral guided meditation where you can absorb your creativity. And without sounding trite, it will set you up for Valentine’s Day (even if you’re on your own!!)

What are the Chakras?
According to yoga tradition, the subtle body is a part of you that you can’t see or touch; it’s where your energy flows, which is why it’s also referred to as the energy body. There are seven key points in the subtle body that are thought to be vortexes of energy, known as chakras ( wheels in Sanskrit). When energy becomes blocked in a chakra, it triggers physical, mental, or emotional imbalances that manifest in symptoms such as anxiety, lethargy, or poor digestion. A varied and regular yoga practice can help free up energy and stimulate an imbalanced chakra, paving the way for that magical internal shift for which yoga is known.
