Arm Balance Workshop
“We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing!” George Bernard Shaw
I know I sound like a broken record every time I post this quote but it is a sort of mantra for me and a reminder as the years go by that play is something we are all entitled to and it is instrumental to our overall health and wellbeing. For some reason society had made us feel that on becoming an adult we should abandon playful activities. My yoga mat has become my playground and a playground for my students. It’s not a place to be serious, judgemental or self critical, things that the human adult are masters at.
Revisit your playful youth and join me on the mat for this exhilarating and uplifting practice. Calm your nervous system with strength, resilience and breathwork you can kick unsettling emotions like stress and anxiety into touch. Doing scary things helps you grow, as the magic in your life happens when you nudge your body outside of its comfort zone!
This workshop is for anyone who has a sense of adventure and wants to deepen their practice not just to scaffold your way up into an arm balance but the learn the tricks of yoga – the weight distribution and concept of grounding to cultivate uplifting energy. You don’t have to be an expert at yoga but some yoga experience is required. We will spend sometime preparing the body to take flight and will finish the practice with a grounding blissful effortless yoga nidra on resilience.
