What is The Intuitive Body?
Since completing my Menopause Yoga teacher training in 2021, I’ve been slowly and meticulously creating this course. It’s taken time — partly because menopause itself is not straightforward. Now, at 54, I’ve been navigating my own menopause journey while scrupulously following the latest research, just like many of you, I’m sure.
Frustratingly, the guidance keeps evolving — because we’re still learning. One size does not fit all. Humans are complex, and adult female humans are particularly complex! Doctors and scientists are still catching up with this transition that every woman will experience — that’s 51% of the world’s population. Why has it taken so long for menopause to be properly researched and understood? It’s quite astonishing when you think about it.
Over the past few years, yoga has been one of my greatest tools. I’ve experimented with different breathing techniques, movement practices, nervous system regulation, and ways of working with a body that is shifting physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Along the way, I’ve explored nutrition, supplements, HRT, read countless books and articles, unfollowed menopause influencers spreading misinformation for clicks and dopamine hits, and instead tried to listen carefully to the genuine experts still quietly working at the coalface.
It’s been a journey — sometimes exhausting, sometimes enlightening — but deeply meaningful. And finally, after years of learning, questioning, researching, experiencing, and refining, this project is complete.
